Commentary
Commentary Double seat (on the twin seat: IG II3.4, 1928), relocated kerkis VIII, seat 5 (courtyard > garden); originally located kerkis VIII, seat 5 (courtyard > garden).
L. 1-2 were cut in Hadrian's times, over an erasure; l. 3, cut by another hand (cursive script, αί for έ), postdates l. 1-2, but is not necessarily much later (late 2nd c. or early 3rd c. Dittenberger, apud Kirchner, IG II²; contra Maass 1972, who adduces parallels which can be dated in the mid- 2nd c.
