Commentary |
In situ, in the middle of the kerkis VII (central). Throne (legs in the shape of feline paws), adorned with reliefs: on the back, two satyrs; on each side, a winged figure (Eros) and a rooster; under the seat, two men fighting two griffins; under this relief, the inscription, doubtless later than the throne (which can be dated between the 4th and the 1st c. BCE: see Maass 1972, p. 60-76; Miller favours the mid-4th c., from a wooden prototype that went back to ca. 450-425). In situ, au centre de la kerkis VII (centrale). Trône (pieds en forme de pattes de félin), orné de reliefs : sur le dossier, deux satyres ; sur chaque côté, un personnage ailé (Eros) et un coq ; sous le siège, deux hommes combattant deux griffons ; sous ce relief, l'inscription, sans aucun doute plus récente que le trône (datable entre le IVe s. et le Ier s. av. n.è. : cf. Maass 1972, p. 60-76 ; Miller 2017 plaide pour le milieu du IVe s., à partir d'un prototype en bois remontant à ca 450-425). |
