| Commentary |
A long, narrow, paper-thin silver phylactery found rolled up inside a small bronze tube in a grave at Beirut; it was acquired by the Musée du Louvre in 1900 and published by A. Héron de Villefosse in 1909. On the scroll the celestial hierarchies and other angels are invoked to protect a woman from numerous perils. The closest published parallel is PSI I 29 = PGM XXXV (Oxyrhynchus?). The text is repetitive, with invocations of the angels of the seven heavens and of other areas of influence.
Phylactère d'argent long, étroit et fin comme du papier, trouvé enroulé dans un petit tube de bronze dans une tombe à Beyrouth ; il a été acquis par le Musée du Louvre en 1900 et publié par A. Héron de Villefosse en 1909. Sur le parchemin, les hiérarchies célestes et d'autres anges sont invoqués pour protéger une femme de nombreux périls. Le parallèle publié le plus proche est PSI I 29 = PGM XXXV (Oxyrhynchus ?). Le texte est répétitif, avec des invocations des anges des sept cieux et d'autres zones d'influence. |
