Commentary
Commentary We follow the extensive study of Keesling 2012 (p. 469-472: text, translation, photograph; passim: commentary).
Inscription in three parts (see Keesling 2012):
- l. 1-4 (larger and later lettering): heading, probably cut between the late 3rd c. and early 1st c. BCE;
- l. 5-13: honorific epigramm for Syeris, a servant of Athena (mid 4th c. BCE);
- l. 14: signature of the sculptor Nikomachos (same date).
On suit l'étude complète de Keesling 2012 (p. 469-472 : texte, traduction, photographie ; passim : commentaire).
Inscription en trois parties :
- l. 1-4 (lettres plus grandes et plus tardives) : intitulé, probablement gravé entre la fin du IIIe s. et le début du Ier s. av. n.è. ;
- l. 5-13 : épigramme honorifique pour Syeris, desservante d'Athéna (probablement milieu du IVe s. av. n.è.) ;
- l. 14 : signature du sculpteur Nikomachos (same date).
