Sundial said to have been found in Imbros, from where it most probably originates: the cult of the Megaloi Theoi is well established here; the Athenian demotic of the dedicant is quite common in this island (which became once again an Athenian possession during the reign of Augustus) and thus does not suffice to consider the stone as a pierre errante from Attica.
Cadran solaire qui aurait été trouvé à Imbros, son très probable lieu d'origine : le culte des Theoi Megaloi y est bien implanté et le fait que le dédicant porte un démotique athénien est habituel dans cet île (redevenue possession athénienne sous Auguste) et ne suffit pas à supposer une origine attique de la pierre. |
