Commentary

Found in Athens (not in Chalandri), ca. 500 m SW of the Dipylon gate.
Quadrangular altar with reliefs depicting:
- back: two torches;
- right face: Cybele and Demeter enthroned side-by-side, with Kore and a masculine figure (Hermes or Iakchos) standing at their sides;
- left face: Cybele enthroned, a lion and Attis at her side.
On the front, two dedicatory epigramms (I, l. 1-8; II, l. 9-12) to Rhea and Attis.
Trouvé à Athènes (et non pas à Chalandri), ca. 500 m au SO du Dipylon.
Autel quadrangulaire avec reliefs représentant :
- à l'arrière : deux torches ;
- face droite : Cybèle et Déméter trônant côte-à-côte, Korè et une figure masculine (Hermès ou Iakchos) se tenant à leurs côtés ;
- face gauche : Cybèle trônant, un lion et Attis à ses côtés.
Sur la face principale, deux épigrammes dédicatoires (I, l. 1-8 ; II, l. 9-12) à Rhéa et Attis.
