Commentary

Stele found in the part of the modern town that corresponds to ancient Pitane, included in the city wall in the Hellenistic period.
The text was framed by two reliefs. Above it, the remains of two legs are still visibles, probably the legs of the person dedicated to the Dioscuri (cf. Lanérès, Les Aiiatai spartiates [2013], 157). Below the text, two heads are preserved, perhaps those of the Dioscuri.
Stèle trouvée dans la partie de la ville moderne qui correspond à l'ancienne Pitanè, incluse dans les murs à l'époque hellénistique.
Le texte était encadré par deux reliefs. Au-dessus du texte, les restes de deux jambes sont visibles, qui seraient celles de la personne dédiée aux Dioscures (cf. Lanérès, Les Aiiatai spartiates [2013], 157). Au-dessous du texte, deux têtes sont préservées : il s'agit peut-être des Dioscures.
