Commentary
Commentary Two joined fragments of a stele containing a decree issued by the Acarnanian Federation in agreement with the city of Anaktorion in Acarnania. It refers to the sanctuary of Apollo of Actium, located in the north of Acarnania, on the territory of the city of Anaktorion, which was responsible for organising competitions in honour of the god. Following economic difficulties in Anaktorion (related to the Allied War), the sanctuary became the property of the Acarnanian federation and a federal religious centre.
