Stele inscribed on the front (l. 1-48) and right (l. 49-59) faces, found in Selimiye, built into the chimney of a house. Obviously from the (sanctuary) of Enyalios (in Lindos) (Testimony #18822); on this sanctuary, esp. its location and topography (on a slope of the Lindian Acropolis?), see Gonzales 2008, p. 131. Decree (psapigma) of the (Lindian) city-state (Council and People) concerning the cult of Enyalios. The decree deals with a tax paid by the soldiers (Testimony #18805), the priest, a sacrifice and a procession possibly linked to the opening phases of combat (Testimonies #18819-18820) and the building of an oikos for the god (Testimony #18821). |
