According to Jordan, Sykon may be a place called "the place of the figs", but it is an hapax and it cannot be identified with any site in Delos or elsewhere. According to Lipinski, the element *Sykonaios is connected to the semitic sikkūn, "fateful", but see the testimonies 14107 and 14018. Selon Jordan, Sykôn pourrait être un lieu dit "le lieu des figues", mais il s'agit d'un hapax qui n'est identifié avec aucun site, ni à Délos ni ailleurs. Selon Lipinski, l'élément *Sykonaios est à rattacher au sémitique sikkūn, "funeste" (mais voir attestations 14107 et 14108). |
