This epithet is only attested (in the region of Byzantion) by the sequence Διονύσου Κάλλωνος; thus we can not to reconstruct its absolute form with certainty: was it in the nominative, referring to a toponym (possibly Callum according to Taşlıklıoğlu 1959; see also Robu 2016) or to beauty (καλόν, see Merkelbach 1988), or in the genitive, by reference to the name of the founder of the cult (Chaniotis, EBGR 2000).
L'épithète étant seulement attestée (dans la région de Byzance) par la séquence Διονύσου Κάλλωνος, il n'est pas possible de déterminer en toute certitude si sa forme absolue est au nominatif, pouvant faire référence à un toponyme (possiblement Callum selon Taşlıklıoğlu 1959 ; voir également Robu 2016) ou dériver de la beauté (καλόν, cf. Merkelbach 1988), ou au génitif, par référence au nom du fondateur du culte (Chaniotis, EBGR 2000). |
