This attribute of Zeus in northeast Lydia is known by three inscriptions from the area of Lake Gygaia / Koloe (Marmara Gölü). It appears twice in the dative case in the sequence Διὶ/Δεὶ Δρικτῃ (Testimonies #9901 and #9939) and twice in the genitive within the syntagms γεγενημένῳ ἱερεῖ τοῦ Διὸς Δριττου (Testimony #9916) and ἱερεὺς διὰ γένους Διὸς Δρικτου (Testimony #9900). The latter attestations in the genitive case have raised doubts about the correct reading of the god’s name: Ζεὺς Δρίκτης/Δρίττης or Ζεὺς ∆ρίττου/∆ρίκτου, in which case Δρίκτου / Δριττου would be the genitive of the anthroponym Δρίκτης/Δρίττης (Malay 2006, p. 94; Chaniotis, EBGR 2006, 79; SEG 56, 1265). But the dative Διὶ/Δεὶ Δρικτῃ rather rules out that possibility.
Cet attribut de Zeus au nord-est de la Lydie est connu par trois inscriptions provenant de la région du lac Gygaia / Koloè (Marmara Gölü). Il y apparaît deux fois au datif dans la séquence Διὶ Δρικτῃ (Attestations #9901 et #9939) et deux fois au génitif dans les syntagmes γεγενημένῳ ἱερεῖ τοῦ Διὸς Δριττου (Attestation #9916) et ἱερεὺς διὰ γένους Διὸς Δρικτου (Attestation #9900). Ces occurrences au génitif ont soulevé des doutes sur la lecture correcte du nom du dieu: Ζεὺς Δρίκτης/Δρίττης ou Ζεὺς ∆ρίττου/∆ρίκτου, auquel cas ∆ρίττου/∆ρίκτου serait le génitif de l’anthroponyme Δρίκτης/Δρίττης (Malay 2006, p. 94 ; Chaniotis, EBGR 2006, 79 ; SEG 56, 1265). Mais cette possibilité semble exclue par les deux attestations du datif Διὶ/Δεὶ Δρικτῃ. |
