Commentary They are two priests, father and son, who are called Aumos and Amelathos.
Commentary The Zeus Unconquered Helios god of Aumos of Deir al-Leben (IGLS XVI.1, 24-27) is also attested to in Duweiri (IGLS XV 259) at the same time. It is a solar deity, perhaps associated with Sol Invictus, since the two places report dedications of the Constantinian era. For the importance of the worship of Sol Invictus in the early years of Constantine cf. Costantino e il Sol Invictus, 2013. This divinity is associated with the god of local origin "god of Aumos" very well attested in the inscriptions of Hauran (IGLS XV 259; 275; 276; 298; 299; 330; 411a).
