The inscription is very uncomplete. Du Mesnil du Buisson ("Inscriptions grecques de Beyrouth", MUSJ 7, 1914-21, 382-394, n°3), reads: [Θ]εῷ Βαα[λ|μα]ρκω[θ] κα[ὶ | ἐν]ο[σί]χ[θ]ον[ι | γ]εν[ν]α[ί]ῳ [Π]ο[σ]|ειδῶ[νι] Ο[... . .]Λ | εὐχὴν ἀνέθη|[κε?], "To the god Balmarcod and the noble ground shaker Poseidon...", suggesting an analogy between the dances on the threshing floor and the prerogatives of Poseidon the ground shaker. But on a paleographical level, this restitution must be rejected. The restitution "to the goddess Hera" is a conjecture based on parallels in Deir el-Qalaa.

Mais sur le plan paléographique, cette restitution doit être rejetée. La restituion "à la déesse Héra" est une conjecture sur la base de parallèles à Deir el-Qalaa. |
