Commentary Maximos could be Caius Julius Maximus, author of three Latin dedications in Deir el-Qalaa and founder of the association of Maximites which honours the gods and organises banquets.
Commentary Aremtha must be the name of a village, deriving perhaps from the Aramaic substantive ḥrmtʾ, "sacred enclosure" or from Syriac and Judeo-Aramaic ʿurmṯā, "heap" (of grain in this case). A place named Aaramta is known in the hinterland of Sidon, south of Jezzine. There is also a hill called Arentha, near Broummana, three km north-east of Beit Meri.
