Commentary In the large village that today became Damit al-'Aliyyah, we can still see a tower with two coarse enclosures and the ancient wall with a part of the door framed with pampers surmounted by inscriptions (IGLS XV, 297; 305). Among the various monuments attested by the epigraphic corpus of the village, there is nothing left of the sanctuary for the god of Aumos, the building with two apses and the residence qualified of aulè.
Commentary The inhabitants of Damatha formed an organized community as in Agraina/Lubbein (IGLS XV 275), Umm az-Zeitun (IGLS XV 447) and Majadel (IGLS XV 459).

Commentary Four characters are mentioned, of which only the name is mentioned, as in the inscription of Agraina/Lubbein (IGLS XV 275), where there are two administrators of the koinon. It is likely that the qualification of the four characters has fallen, or is implied.
Commentary The God of Aumos is attested several times in Deir al-Leben (IGLS XVI, 24), Damatha (IGLS XV 299), Agraina-Lubbein (IGLS XV 275) and Harran (IGLS XV 259). The inscription shows that in the fourth century people continue to speak of the god of Aumos and not of Zeus-Helios as Sourdel claims (p. 56).
