Commentary On fragment a, F. Cumont (SEG 7, 1007) suggest to read [Ἀν]το̣ [νείνου].
Sur le fragment a, F. Cumont (SEG 7, 1007) croit lire [Ἀν]το̣ [νείνου].
Commentary The text commemorates the institution of a feast (heorte) in the sanctuary of Bel. Sourdel (Cultes du Hauran, 1952) considers that Bel is a local god, but at this time, it may also be the great god of Palmyra or Apamea, honoured at Shaqqā. The god also appears in an inscription from the nearby village of 'Amra which mentions a Zeus Bel followed by a topical epithet that seems characteristic of Mesopotamia, (A)paddana (572a).
