Commentary
Commentary Probably two brothers, or a father and son.
Commentary Agents #1 dedicated (l. 13-14: anethêkan) three silver statues (l. 14: eikonas arguras treis) in gratitude for their salvation (l. 15-16: huper tên autôn sôtêrias charistêrion). Given the date (between 165/6 and 170/1), Ferrary thinks that the inscription refers to the plague, spread by the victorious Parthian army in the early summer of 166 (I.Claros mémoriaux, pp. 468 note 74). Agents #2 saw to the erection of the statues (l. 16-17: epimelêthe< n >tôn tês anatheseôs) and personally paid for the celebration (l. 17-19: tês eis tên heortên dapanês oikothen).
